PASCO, Washington, May 3, 2021 – A new online wine shop has opened in Downtown Pasco. C D Wine Ventures is the exciting creation of Craig Maloney, Damien Davis, and Emily Maloney. C D Wine Ventures offers unique monthly club shipments and online purchases of unique local and international wines for pickup or delivery in the Tri-Cities area.

When asked, Craig Maloney, who serves as a Pasco City Council member, said “we want to bring the wine experience to people who are intimidated by the unnecessarily formal and pretentious trappings of the wine world. Wine should be approachable, fun, and enjoyed with friends.” He went on to say that they started the shop so they can share their love of wine far and wide.

C D Wine Ventures offers an online store, with free local deliveries, or pickup by appointment only. They also offer monthly wine clubs that are fully customizable to make sure customers get to choose their own wine journey. Club orders, consisting of four hand-selected bottles (just right for about one bottle per week), will cost between $80 and $120 each month.

Customers looking for wine online will not see the typical tasting notes. Instead, there will be descriptions without the normal jargon about terroir or obscure flavors. And, perhaps, a touch of humor. Recent wine club descriptions include references to famous actors Sean Connery and Chris Hemsworth and suggestions on pairing with tacos.

C D Wine Ventures strives to make it easy for anyone to buy delicious wine, regardless of how far they have come in their personal wine journey. They are focused on bringing in wine that the Tri-Cities is not familiar with and also finding local hidden gems. Damien Davis, long-time restaurateur, said “buying wine doesn’t have to be mystical or overwhelming. It’s not about exclusion, or a secret handshake. It’s about the wine. It’s about great juice.” They want to introduce you to something new, interesting, and just plain tasty.

Craig, Damien, and Emily all have deep ties in the community. Craig and Emily, longtime advocates of Pasco, run the much beloved Pasco Taco Crawl, and have been active on many boards across the Tri-Cities. Damien is currently the Executive Director of the Franklin County Historical Museum, but you may also know him from his previous work at the Pasco Farmers Market and Food Truck Fridays.
